On October 25, 2018, H.E. Mr. Rashid Alimov, SCO Secretary-General and Ambassador Wang Kaiwen, Former Deputy SCO Secretary-General visited Shanghai Institutes for International Studies. Professor Yang Jiemian, Chairman of Academic Affairs Council of SIIS met with them and both sides had a discussion on the development and future of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the new era.

After the meeting, H.E. Mr. Rashid Alimov was presented the certificate of International Advisor of SIIS and Ambassador Wang Kaiwen was presented the certificate of non-resident research fellow of SIIS. Professor Pan Dawei, Director of Center for Russian Studies of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Dr. Ye Qing, Assistant President of SIIS, Dr. Li Xin, Director of Center for Russian & Central Asia Studies and Dr. QiangXiaoyun, Deputy Director of Center for Russian & Central Asia Studies participated in the meeting.
