SIIS President Chen Dongxiao leads a group visit to the U.S.

Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) President Chen Dongxiao headed a SIIS delegation to the U.S from May 5 to 13, 2018.

During the visit in New York, the delegation participated in the 7th annual meeting of Council of Councils held by Council on Foreign Relations, visited National Committee on American Foreign Policy, Eurasia Group, and Consulate General of China in New York.

During the visit in Washington D.C., the delegation attended 7th US-China Dialogue on the Global Economic Order, co-hosted by SIIS and Center for Strategic and International Studies, and commemorative activities of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and U.S. The delegation also held dialogues with scholars and experts from Mitsubishi Corporation Washington Office, Atlantic Council, American Enterprise Institute, SAIS, US-Asia Institute and Brookings Institution. The delegation also visited Chinese Embassy.

During the visit in U.S., the delegation met and exchanged views on hotspot issues, such as development of China-U.S. bilateral relationshipand multilateral cooperation, with UN Secretary General António Guterres, Former President of the World Bank Robert Zoellick, Chinese Ambassador to U.S. Cui Tiankai, Consul-General in New York Zhang Qiyue, Chinese Executive Director at IMF Jin Zhongxia, and dozens of directors of and scholars from think-tanks worldwide.
