On December 18, 2017, SIIS President Chen Dongxiao met with Prof. Chang-ho Yang, President of the Korea Maritime Institute and his colleagues. The two sides had a discussion on institutional cooperation and signed MOU.

SIIS vice president Yang Jian presided over the signing ceremony. Prof. Ye Qing, director of the Institute for Global Governance Studies, Prof. Zhang Haibing, director of the Institute for World Economy Studies, Prof. Yu Hongyuan, director of the Institute for Comparative Politics and Public Policy Studies, Prof. Zhang Yao, director of the Center for Maritime and Polar Studies and Prof. Zhang Pei, deputy director of the Center for Maritime and Polar Studies participated in the ceremony.
