November 5, SIIS President Chen Dongxiao meets with Amb. Anil Sooklal, Deputy
Director-General Responsible for Asia and the Middle East of Department of
International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa and BRICS sous- Sherpa, and
talks about BRICS’ development trend as well as think tank cooperation. Afterwards,
Amb. Anil Sooklal delivers a speech on South Africa’s Chair of BRICS. Prof. Zhang
Haibing, Executive Director of the Institute for World Economy Studies, chairs the
meeting. Officials and experts from Consulate-General of South Africa in Shanghai,
Consulate-General of Russia in Shanghai, Consulate-General of Brazil in Shanghai,
Consulate-General of India in Shanghai, East China Normal University, China
Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP) as well as SIIS researchers and
graduate students attend the meeting.
