The international symposium entitled “Examining the Options of the Informal Global Governance”, co-organized by Shanghai Institutes for International Studies ( SIIS) and Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) and co-sponsored by Heiligendamm Process Support Unit (HDP-SU/OECD), was held in Hongqiao Guest Hotel on June 16th. Officials and scholars from China, America, Germany, Canada, South Africa and Mexico attended the meeting and had an in-depth discussion on the issues of global governance under the current financial crisis. Dr. Chen Dongxiao, Vice President of SIIS, Dr. Stefan Mair, senior researcher of SWP, and Mr. Albrecht von der Heyden, Consul General of Germany in Shanghai, made the opening addresses.
