President Chen Dongxiao visited Hong Kong at the invitation of HKSAR Government on January 18^th – 21^st. During his visit, President Chen exchanged views with Mr. C.Y. Leung, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Mr. C.H. Tung, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Song Zhe, Commissioner of China’s Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong, Mr. Yang Jian, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, and Mr. Zeng Yucheng, the President of Legislative Council. He also visited Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, Department of Justice, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Information Service Department, Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, Trade Development Council, One Country Two Systems Research Institute, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Lingnan University, etc. President Chen delivered a keynote speech on “China’s Peripheral Diplomacy in the New Era and the Construction of Regional Order in the Asia-Pacific” at the workshop organized by the Central Policy Unit.
