January 21-22, The Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Office cosponsored the International Conference on the “The Euro Debt Crisis: Consequences for the Global Economy and Implications for Emerging Countries”. Mr. Hu Zhaoming, Deputy Director-General of Department of European Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of People’s Republic of China attends the meeting and delivers the keynote speech. SIIS President Yang Jiemian delivers the opening remarks. SIIS Vice President Chen Dongxiao delivers the concluding remarks. During the two-day conference, experts from China, Germany, Spain, India, Korea and European Union institutions have deep discussions on the current situation assessment, future scenarios, policies to overcome the Euro debt crisis, impacts on the global economy and some other issues.
