SIIS & EABER Hold Joint Conference on “Australia-China Dialogue on the G20 and Regional Initiatives”

January 31, co-sponsored by Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and East Asia Bureau of Economic Research, Australian National University, the International Conference on “Australia-China Dialogue on the G20 and Regional Initiatives” is held in Hengshan Picardie Hotel, Shanghai. Mr. Cui Tiankai, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs (Chinese G20 sherpa as well) and Mr. Gordon de Brouwer, Associate Secretary of the Australian Associate Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (Australian G20 sherpa as well) attend the conference and deliver opening remarks together with Dr. Yang Jiemian, SIIS President and Prof. Peter Drysdle, Head of the EABER, ANU. SIIS Vice President Chen Dongxiao chairs the conference. Chinese and Australian attendees have deep discussions on the institutionalization of G20, Asian countries’ role in G20, G20’s future agenda and some other issues.
