International Symposium on “Energy Policies and Global Governance for Green Development” held in SIIS

September 20-21, the International Symposium on Energy Policies and Global Governance for Green Development is held in SIIS. The symposium is co-sponsored by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung(FES)and SIIS. SIIS President Yang Jiemian and Dr. Rudolf Traub-Merz, Director of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Shanghai Office deliver opening remarks for the symposium. The symposium consists of three sessions of “Towards a Secure and Green Energy System”, “Key Elements in Green Energy and North-South Cooperation on the Low-Carbon Agenda” and “Policies and Strategies on Durban and Rio plus 20 Summit”. Officials, scholars and researchers from international organizations, think tanks and academic institutions as International Energy Agency (IEA), United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (UNFAO), National Development and Reform Commission, China (NDRC), China Meteorological Administration, World Resources Institute (WRI), Brazilian Forum of Climatic Changes, Integrated Research and Action for Development (IRAD), German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and The Royal Institute of International Affairs, Peking University and SIIS participate to have wide-range and in-depth discussions on the energy issues and global governance.
