2010年3月15日上午，英国外交大臣戴维·米利班德访问上海国际问题研究院并作为该院院庆50周年“名家讲坛”嘉宾的身份发表了演讲。米利班德在演讲中纵论了当前国际形势，积极评价中国在国际舞台上发挥的重要作用。他强调，英国高度重视英中两国的全面战略伙伴关系，两国领导人面对面的交流对促进双边关系的发展，加强双方在重大国际问题上的合作，有着不可替代的重要作用。他在回答听众的提问时表述了对当前国际热点问题的看法，并预祝上海世博会圆满成功。约百余位与会者来自本市有关国际问题的研究，教学和政府部门。中英两国的媒体工作者也对演讲会进行了采访和报道。(米利班德的演讲稿下载)
